The 2026-2027 Academic Year Year 1 Orientation Program Was Held at Our Faculty of Medicine

Our Faculty's Orientation Program for Year 1 students for the 2026-2027 academic year was held from September 21 to 23, 2026.

Conducted with the contributions of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Güldem Kilciler, as well as faculty members serving on the Unit Quality Commission and Self-Evaluation Board and administrative staff, the program aimed to support new students in their transition to university and faculty life and to inform them about educational processes.

During the three-day program, information sessions were held covering the university and faculty overview, occupational health and safety, "Smoke-Free Campus" policies, administrative units and the student information system, the Faculty of Medicine Education and Examination Regulations, assessment and evaluation principles, elective and common compulsory courses, student advising, student exchange programs in higher education, and quality and accreditation processes. Additionally, students were provided with information regarding the library, student clubs, and the university's social facilities.

The segment of the program dedicated to quality and accreditation processes addressed the importance of students' active participation in educational processes, feedback mechanisms, and the approach of continuous improvement. Emphasizing that students are key stakeholders in the quality assurance system, information was provided regarding the quality and accreditation initiatives carried out within the Faculty.

The Orientation Program concluded with the gathering of student views and suggestions and the election of student representatives. Our faculty aims to sustain initiatives that support the conscious and active participation of our students in the teaching and learning processes.
