Clinical Research Contributed by Our Faculty Reaches Phase 3

A clinical study on a nano-liposome-based spray formulation, to which faculty members from our faculty have contributed, has reached Phase 3.

An information session regarding the formulation—developed as part of research conducted over the past nine years—was held at the Nazım Hikmet Conference Hall on our university’s central campus. The meeting was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz; our Dean, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Güldem Kilciler; and the academic staff involved in the research.

The study is coordinated by Op. Dr. Ahmet Ümit Sabancı and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Perihan Erkan Alkan from the Department of Microbiology. Other contributors include Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cihan Semet from the Department of Infectious Diseases, Dr. Reşad Beyoğlu from the Department of Emergency Medicine, and Dr. Talha Karabıyık from the Department of Medical Biochemistry.

During the meeting, information was shared regarding the development process of the nano-liposome technology, the current status of the research, and the potential applications of the formulation for viral respiratory infections. Our faculty congratulates the participating faculty members and expresses its gratitude for their contributions to this scientific endeavor.
